_______________________________
Not all invasive species are legally prohibited. Some species are prohibited in nearby states, or have not yet been a problem in NH but may become a problem in the future. Some of these species are already on the NH watch list. Others are not. All of these are legally allowed to be sold in stores, but should be considered potentially invasive. Some examples of invasives that are major problems in surrounding states or south of NH include:
- Mimosa Trees
- Blue Lupine
- Garden Yellow Loosestrife
- Wild Parsnip
- Black Locust (tree)
- Beach Rose
- Creeping Charlie
- Bradford Pear
- English Ivy
- Wisteria Sinensis
- Cogongrass
- Sweet Autumn Clematis
- Bugleweed/Ajuga
- Butterfly Bush
Reporting Invasives
Please report sightings of invasive species (plants, wildlife, insects, fungi and diseases) via https://www.eddmaps.org/ or via their app https://www.eddmaps.org/apps.cfm. Sightings are verified by experts, and the maps are open to anybody to view and use.
On a computer: You will need to be able to identify the location precisely on a map, and include photos of the infestation site.
On a phone: You will need to allow location services, and take pictures of the infestation.
